
i found two bottles today. funny as i used to be this avid cllector in days past.
One is an old ink well with the words UNDERWOOD'S INKS embossed on the side of its light blue glass side. this bottle is interesting because you can tell it was hand made and not machine produced. This is most obvious in the orregulatities in the thickness of the lass and the irregular/uneven top. very cool though.
The other is also very cool as it is a Hire's Root Beer botttle which reads on one side HIRES IMPROVED ROOT BEER. On the next side it reads MAKES FIVE GALLONS OF A DELICIOUS DRINK. The following side reads MANUFACTURED ONLY BY CHARLES E. HIRES. The last side reads PHILADELPHIA P.A. U. S. A. .
On the bottom of the small bottle is the number 2.
According to Ebay the hires bottle is worth $25 US and the ink bottle is worth $5 US
